Google announced the arrival of Android 3.1 at it's I/O event being held in San Fransisco.
The update to Honeycomb adds new interface options, allows users to plug in USB devices and includes a film rental service that works directly from the device.
Android 3.1 is available to Motorola Xoom owners now but at a later date for other tablets.
Google also announced a new cloud based music streaming service, allowing users to upload their music collection and stream it to their devices.
This service is in invitation-only beta in the US at present.
