What is the Importance Of W3C Validated XHTML Pages?

W3C stands for World Wide Consortium. The mark up validation service as provided by W3C allow the users to check HTML documents that they are up to the mark of HTML or XHTML standards. It provides guidelines to the web designers to make a very structured website that should be cross browser compatible.

Everyone talk and ask for W3C validation of XHTML web pages, but No one actually understands the importance of it. Let's know why your web pages should be W3C XHTML standards compliant:

If your web pages are W3C compliance, then your website would be easily accessed by your potential customers.

User Experience will be improved. Always remember, if your customers enjoy navigating through your website, then you are going to be benefited in some or the other way. But if your user has poor experience with website, then you will be into big loss.

W3C validation would minimize the amount of coding on your pages thereby emphasizing the content. Hence it would increase your chances of getting indexed and come into top search rankings. As, spiders crawl on web pages with relevant content.

Your web page would be easily accessed through different devices like PC's, laptops, PDA's ,cellular phones etc.

Validation is one of the simplest way to check that website is built up as per web standards. It ensures that current and future browsers will handle it as it is designed without any mismatch.

It also make the web pages easy to be maintained.

Not only for expert web professional, but it is also very helpful for freshers in web designing world as validation also checks mark up errors.

HTML is the basic web language. All the other web programming ASP.Net, PHP etc. result into HTML page which is the end product reaching to the users. Some HTML statements which look correct on Laptop browser may not look correct on mobile browsers. Here where the problem arises. So, XML Mark up is where everything is marked up very correctly. We can say that HTML is for displaying data and Mark up is for describing data.

In today's when there are so many browsers available in the market. Some browsers run on computers, laptops but not on mobile phones. So, mobile phones do not catch up a bad mark up and your page would not be accessible to them. Web professionals always go W3C validation for achieving results today and tomorrow.
